A Memorial

“It’s time to leave a legacy…”

March Madness

Seems like things are moving pretty quickly these days… never made so many beats consistently over such a long period. I feel like I have a good amount of momentum, and it’s carrying over into a couple of lingering projects that will be quite good when they’re done, but are completely long overdue: remixes of both The Have Nots by Scribbling Idiots and American Gangster by Jay-Z. After those are done, I’m concentrating on putting together a collection of beats to shop around. Should be fun.

Sick Day

Second cold in a month… sucks. Got to chill and spend time @ home, though. Doing some remixes.

Today:

Make a beat. #dilla

Busy work

Copying old songs and sessions over to my new recording format of choice… they will be conquered.

Beats?

Don’t mind if I do…

First order of business: round out this #precious demo for Caramel Skillington.

Next: Remixes for the portfolio… Making the Brand.

Man…

…it feels good to be back at it.

Progress

So I finally knocked out a couple of demos that involve remixing/remaking existing songs rather than straight up creating something new. For some reason, these were stumbling blocks to the process; it feels great to graduate these songs to the next phase.

Weapons

Tonight: Ableton Live, Technics SL-1210, various records from my private collection… ears of gold, impeccable timing, and the will of a mongoose.

On deck…

The Goodness - Caramel Skillington

The Have Nots (Remixed) - Scribbling Idiots

This Is My Country (American Gangster Remixes) - Jay-Z

Tectonic Manifesto (working title) - Trump Dawgs
